The opening of Stoppard’s “Czech play” is the theatrical event of the year in London

Many celebrities, including Václav Havel, attended the world premiere of Tom Stoppard's latest play, Rock'n'roll at the Royal Court Theatre on 14 June 2006. Representatives of Aura-Pont were in the audience! Spanning the years between 1968 and 1990, the play follows the parallel story of a left-wing professor at Cambridge and a Czech dissident. The play, directed by Trevor Nunn, will run at the RCT for a month and then transfer to the West End's Duke of York´s Theatre. The Czech premiere of Jitka Sloupová's translation directed by Ivan Rajmont is scheduled at the main stage of the National Theatre for February 2007. It will be the first production of Rock'n'Roll outside the UK.
