Following the successful production of Václav Havel’s Leaving [Odcházení], another key contemporary Czech play comes to the Budějovice stage – this time, moreover, as the Czech premiere. Coming Clean had its successful world premiere two years ago at the famous Teatr Stary in Cracow which had the exclusive rights to the play until now. After the Cracow’s theatre option expired, the author decided to offer the play to South Bohemian Theatre. The play will be produced by the theatre’s Artistic Director Martin Glaser who also directed Leaving. Another factor linking the two productions is the casting of the actor Jiří Šesták in the lead role: having played Chancellor Rieger, the managing director of South Bohemian Theatre will be performing the role of Zelenka’s problem hero, the writer Michal.
