At a ceremony at the Museum of the Czech Music on October 23, 2006, the lifetime translation work of one of our most respected clients František Fröhlich was awarded the prestigious State Prize. Fröhlich translates mostly Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian plays, and has introduced to the Czech theatre authors such as P.O. Enquist, Robert Bolt, Edward Bond, Simon Gray, Christopher Hampton, Harold Pinter, Astrid Saalbach, David Storey, John Webster - and the Scandinavian classics, August Strindberg and Henrik Ibsen. This year, a two volume selection of Fröhlich's Ibsen translations was published on the occasion of the author's death's centenary.
