Leaving in Bulgaria!

The text for the premiere of Leaving was translated by Martin Mladenov and directed by Plamen Panov. The Ruse production means that the next international staging of the play outside the Czech Republic overtook cities such as New York, Washington or Paris.

The play was directed by the Ruse’s Sava Ognianov Theatre managing director Plamen Panov. The Bulgarian translation was completed in July 2008 and offered to all the theatres both in the capital Sofia and some theatres outside.

Both the translation of the play into Bulgarian and the production were initiated by the Czech Centre in Sofia. Those present at the opening included people from the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, the Mayor of Ruse, Mr Bojidar Ivanov Yotov, Czech Ambassador to Bulgaria, Mr Martin Klepetko, Czech Ambassador to Rumania, Mr Petr Dokládal (a former Ambassador to Bulgaria), the directors of the Czech Centres in both Sofia and Bucharest, the Bulgarian translator of the play Martin Mladenov and other personalities.
