Gazeta Wyborcza: Petr Zelenka already started rehearsing his new play at the Stary Theatre in Cracow.

What will the play be about? About human fate in the television era. That's what Petr Zelenka disclosed in an interview with the editor from the Polish national newspaper, Gazeta Wyborcza. "The play will deal with the ‘crime and punishment' concept'; the punishment being a TV show that's never broadcast. I would like to build a TV studio onstage. I hope the whole thing will be also amusing," said Zelenka.

He is writing the lead role for the actor, Krzysztof Globisz. The other well-known Polish actors, Jan Peszek and Urszula Kiebzak. The production team will be enhanced by two other Czech theatre people, the set designer Martin Chocholoušek and the composer Karel Holas from the Čechomor group. In May, Zelenka started his rehearsals, that will make life difficult for his Polish translator Krystyna Krauze: it is well known that the playwright keeps rewriting right up to the opening night. He will be working with his cast for a month, then return to Prague to write a new draft. At the end of September, Zelenka will return to Cracow, the play will open on October 27.

"Everything points to something we can look forward to," says Teatr Stary's managing director Mikolaj Grabowski, who is also a big fan of Zelenka's plays and movies as he himself admits.
