Coming Clean

Petr Zelenka - currently the most popular contemporary playwright in Poland - wrote and directed his new play under a commission from Helena Modrzejewska, the artistic director of the most famous of the theatre ensembles in Poland - the Old Theatre (Teatr Stary) in Cracow. The world premiere of the play with the title Coming Clean (Očištění), translated by Krystyna Krauze and directed by the author, took place on October 27, 2007 at the Chamber Stage under the Wawel Castle. The Stary Theatre secured the exclusive rights for the play production for 18 months. A Czech production, or another foreign production of Zelenka's play might be in the pipeline by end of May 2009.
