CCQ – Czech clarinet quartet – in November and December

In November 2006, the CCQ - Czech Clarinet Quartet presented several times their concert crossover project Echoes from the Stone II. On November 15, the group appeared in the live recording from the Czech Radio's Studio 1. In the transmission the members of the Quartet performed music and told the story of their group since its inception via many interesting artistic meetings and musical journeys all the way to their plans for the future.
A day later, on November 16 at 8 pm, the CCQ was involved in the traditional charity concert for the Foundation Fund Impulse, together with their guests: the Quartet's regular collaborator Alan Vitouš, and Martin Fila playing celesta and piano. Thanks both to the generosity of the donors and the beautiful music that enticed so many listeners to Archa Theatre, the concert brought in the incredible sum of 1 118 050 Czech Crowns!!!! The distribution of the funds will be coordinated by the Impulse FF and you can find more about the project on the internet. Both Aura-Pont and Archa Theatre were among the partners of the project and they are looking forward to the next event in 2007.
On December 4, Archa Theatre presented a concert Analysis and Synthesis incorporating a range of musical styles; jazz, classical music, ethno and minimalism. The joint project involving Alan Vitouš, Epoque Quartet and the CCQ - Czech clarinet quartet (they performed together before, e. g. at the MHF concert Autumn Strings in October 2006) was presented as a part of Archa's Advent program. Besides the well tested pieces, a new fusion of the three groups could be heard in compositions by Milan Kymlička.
