The final decision of the jury was as follows:

1st Prize: Vladislava Fekete: Krátke spojenia [Shortcuts]

2nd Prize: Eva Prchalová: Ažura [Ladder Cross-Stitch]

3rd Prize: Daniela Fischerová: 12 způsobů mizení [12 Manners of Disappearing]

For the fourth time, Czech Radio 3 – Vltava awarded its Special Prize to a text it plans to broadcast. The station director Lukáš Hurník handed over the Prize to Ms Vladislava Fekete for her play Shortcuts.

A new feature is a collaboration with Jihočeské divadlo in České Budějovice that decided to produce one of the entries submitted to this year’s competition and open it as this season’s last premiere on May 6, 2009. The play – again Shortcuts by Vladislava Fekete - will be directed by Petr Štindl.

The theatre review Svět a divadlo [The World and the Theatre] will publish two of the plays submitted: Shortcuts by Vladislava Fekete and 12 Manners of Disappearing by Daniela Fischerová.

Brno-based publishing house Větrné mlýny [Windmills] became a new partner of the drama competition: it will publish three of the shortlisted entries (Eva Prchalová: Ladder Cross-Stich, Josef Rubeš: The Domain, and Dodo Gombár: A House Without God) in its Contemporary Czech Plays series.

The prize-winning texts, as well as the other anonymous entries in Alfréd Radok Playwriting Competition are available at http://www.cenyradoka.cz together with more information on the Alfréd Radok 2008 Awards.

All the winning texts are represented by Aura-Pont.
