The first Alfréd Radok Awards were made in
1992. Their original guarantor was from May 1992
the Alfréd Radok Foundation, founded on the initiative of the theatre and literary agency Aura-Pont.
In 2002 the Foundation Fund of the Alfréd Radok Awards came into existence. Its founders were, in addition to Aura-Pont, the Czech Literary Fund Foundation, the Writers' Community, the Czech Centre of PEN Klub and the journal World and Theatre.
