The stage premiere of Petr Zelenka’s Tales of the Ordinary Madness in Croatia took place on 7 May at the Gavella Theatre. The reviews from the opening in Zagreb’s press stress mainly good individual acting (Biserka Ilea who plays the Mother was later awarded as the best actress of the season at Gavella). The Novi List reviewer Nataša Govedić wrote about the opening night:
“The director, Dora Ruždjak Podolski, and her well chosen and dedicated cast have definitely proven how much we yearn for a comedy repertory which would mirror true compassion rather than contempt towards mankind.'' (Nataša Govedić, ''Novi list'')
