Klavdijevovy hry nevynikají svou délkou a většinou jsou málo dějové, což je dáno tím, že buď rozvíjejí určitou myšlenku, nebo demonstrují určitý model světa. Ve většině jeho her jsou hlavními postavami teenageři, děti, které hrají o právo na život. Vyhraňují se ti, co jsou schopni vytvořit si pro sebe nějakou životní koncepci a podle ní žít, oproti ostatním, kteří nemají cíl a ze kterých se stalo pouhé prázdné místo ve společnosti.

Prostředí, ve kterém se děj Klavdijevových her odehrává, vychází z reálného místa, z města, ve kterém autor žije. Město Toljatti je poměrně mladé a je na něm zajímavé, že se tu zřetelně setkává starý svět - staří lidé se svými zkušenostmi a moudrostí - a nový svět - moderní, technická, civilizovaná část města. Klavdijev sám říká, že mládí města ho vede k tomu, aby ve svých hrách dotvářel městu, které nemá žádnou historii, vlastní mytologii.

Jeho hry jsou označovány za druhou vlnu coolness dramatiky, neboť se tam často objevuje násilí. Klavdijev se však násilím zaobírá z hlediska postižení jeho podstaty, snaží se nalézat motivace, které k němu vedou. Násilí je u něho buď promyšleným aktem, kterým postavy vyjadřují svůj názor na skutečnost a chtějí, aby tento názor bylo slyšet, a nebo je násilí důsledkem hry, která je vyprovokována nudou, a proto často zachází do extrémů, které mohou končit i smrtí.

The name of Krasnogorov is well known to theater-goers of Russia.  His plays LET'S HAVE SEX!, THE DOG, SMALL TRAGEDIES, DELIGHTS OF ADULTERY, SOMEBODY MUST GO AWAY, PROCESSION OF GNOMES, LOVE MEDICINE, SEVERAL HOURS FROM THE LIFE OF A MAN AND A WOMAN, THIS WEAK TENDER SEX, BRIDE'S ROOM, THE CRUEL LESSON, are warmly met by critics and audience. Up to now 21 plays of him have been performed in 160 theaters. Up to 1992 he was President of the St. Petersburg Playwrights Association. Now he lives in Israel.

The creative dramatic skills of the author span a wide arc.  He has displayed a superb mastery of many kinds of plays.  Biting satire, a keen sense of humor both grotesque and absurd, lyricism, and a knowledge of the human heart - these are the main features of Krasnogorov's theatre pieces. The tensions and conflicts of his plays are set off by his style of lively and easy dialogue, dynamics, and intensive action.  The author uses paradoxical situations and unusual plots to involve readers and audiences into the worlds, created by his imagination.

The plays of V. Krasnogorov are contained in the permanent repertoire of many theatres and are sometimes played several hundreds times.  They are enthusiastically received by audiences.  Critics noticed that " Krasnogorov's plays cross borders easily".  For this reason, many of them have been translated into foreign languages and staged in  theatres, on radio and on TV of different countries. His plays were staged by the most famous theater directors of Russia.

Valentin Krasnogorov translated into Russian Hanoch Levin's play "Rubber Traders". This play has been staged in St. Petersburg and Kiev and won the highest theater price in Russia - "The Golden Mask"

V. Krasnogorov is member of the Writers Union of Russia;  member of the Russian Union of the Theater Workers; member of the Israel Federation of Writers Unions. His biopraghy is included in the dictionaries "Marquis Who's Who in the World", USA,  "International Who's Who in the Intellectuals", England, Camridge, et. al.
